How to Become a Game Designer and Be Successful with It

Here are a few great tips on how to become a game designer, and be successful with it. Tip number 1: Education. Like any other professional jobs, having a good educational background really helps. If you are serious about being a game designer as your career choice, you have to plan early and look for college courses that are related to video game designing. For instance, it is a great advantage if you have a good amount of knowledge in computer animation and designing which you could get from taking Multimedia courses. Tip number 2: Volunteer as a game tester. Many game developers and designers have started their career as a video game tester and considered it as a stepping stone towards their current job. However, it is not easy to apply for a video game tester without any experience, but game developing companies will gather volunteer game testers as many as they can.

I think htis deal is a double edged sword… Bungie will be able to get more employees that are qualified for what they do, which is really good cause they can make sure their games are higher quality. the downside is Activision will more than likely want Bungie to produce games faster than they have done in the past, Activision has a history of getting their developing companies to hurry games out to make profit on the title alone without much improvement on the gameplay from previous games in the series. one of the biggest examples in my opinion is the Tony Hawk series.]]>
