the truth is im 14 and my mom is all for this and she wants to know if they will ask for your social security number
and i want to know if i can use my moms info but i do all the game testing hours
i really want to try this job as part time because i love videogames and i will play them after i come home from school because i know u can log hours into said game i dont
care if their broken ill play them to find the bugs in them
also i seriously need the money not for games but for my personal stuff like clothes shoes etc my mom only makes a little more than enough just to pay the bills
so please is there anyway a 14 year old can loophole this and get the job my mom and i have been through hard times and i want to pay her back for all shes done
also please dont just suggest another job i just want a clear answer if i can loophole this job and does it need your social security #

You need to give your social security number for any paid work. You can’t use your mom’s info. You need to apply for a social security card of your own if you don’t have one. Sorry your mom has fallen on hard times. You’ll get through it. You might be able to get a job in fast food or a grocery store at 15.
For the poster above, no you don’t have to be 18 to get a job. I worked full time from 16-18, and helped pay a mortgage. I wish my life were that simple.

Lol…this “game tester” question.
It’s not that easy bud. And at the age of 14, you won’t be able to do such things at all.
Game testing is not easy work…at all. You’ll be doing the same thing over and over and over and OVER again until it becomes a chore. It involves a lot of replaying to determine a bug / glitch in a game and you’ll have to think of something logical to fix the issue, or what can be done to make it playable. You wont be playing hush-hush big name titles like Modern Warfare 2 or Halo games. No, they wouldn’t need someone to test those…the devs and other employees will be doing that.
I was a game tester for a company here in Canada for a bit…I’m 17 years old. It was a freaking cellphone game and I was paid 8.75 an hour..not bad for a first job. But it was tiring, pretty boring…sure it was fun at first but it became way too repetitive.
You may like video games…but can you imagine playing the same game over and over again for about 6 months? Yeah..not much fun especially if it’s the same LEVEL for 6 months.

Ways to make money?
I’m almost 14 years old and I get a meager amount of money for allowence and my parents don’t really offer me any jobs that pay enough money to make them worth doing or they expect me to do them without pay. I want a good way to make money that a 14 year old could do. I’m good with computers (if someone knows a place that pays for giving computer help or something), I like to play video game (some type of beta testing job), and I’m a fair engineer (I’m pretty good with electronics and building stuff). Does anyone have any ideas or links to something that I could do for money?

Try affiliate marketing. You’ll promote products online and then get a commission if anyone buys them. Here’s two free sites to get started on. They have e-books that tell you how to do it, forums, templates etc. All for free. Good luck.
